The Hurricane Closes In On Title

In an interesting tactical match of 2 hours and 40 minutes in front of a crowd of 1, The Hurricane justified his billing as title favourite with a 4-0 whitewash of The People's Champion, The Jackal. The match was closer than the scoreline suggests. In the first frame The Hurricane tried to be aggressive as the Jackal tried to close the game down. It was pot and run snooker of good quality but low scores. It was level up to the colours and after exchanging colours it went to the black. Then , undoing all of his great work to keep The Hurricane at bay, The Jackal missed the black completely. 1-0. The second frame was a mirror of the first. The green covered the black spot and so breaks were almost impossible. In a game more like chess than snooker both players were stifled. It was level on the colours but The Jackal this time fouled on the pink to hand the frame to The Hurricane 2-0. In the third frame the crowd wondered would The Hurricane stroll away, but no.The Jackal, sweating profusely in the humid Mill Drove arena, played it very tight and The Hurricane's game became disjointed. But disaster was around the corner as again The Hurricane looked more confident on the colours and The Jackal fouled again on the pink to complete a hat trick of unfortunate frame endings. 3-0.  By now The Jackal was a spent force and The Hurricane cruised to the fourth frame as The Jackal went to pieces. The Hurricane, with his clinical frame finishes, was installed as the bookies favourite for the title after this second straight victory. The Jackal's own title hopes may be over, but he is still expected to have enough in his locker beat The Lockout and open up the league.
